The Chiron LMP3 powered by the Spoon Sports Honda K20A has completed initial tuning in Torrance, California. The efforts of Hondata (www.hondata.com) and Prototype Engineering (www.prototyperacing.com) have culminated with outstanding results as reported by David Jansen "With the power level exceeding our expectations, the torque curve is superb and does not fall off much on the top end, one that makes for a very enjoyable car to drive. The efforts of the "Honda aces from outer space" Doug and Derek of Hondata and Joe of Prototype Engineering have given us even better results than we had planned for. With our partners, Hondata, Prototype Engineering, Motul, Spoons Sports, and Chiron World Sports Cars, Ltd, we are eagerly looking forward to private testing, and expect to launch our "Motorsports Experience" at California Speedway May 19th-21st running with SpeedVentures (www.speedventures.com). Running the full ALMS course, and being with Porsche Owners Club during their Tribute to Le Mans will be a wonderful experience for us.

Mark and all,

The LMP3 is in Torrance at Prototype Racing and will then go over to Hondata for their magic. While we were working on her up here, I knew there was something that I was neglecting, so I haven't any recent pictures. Chiron LMP3 description!

The target range depends on the electronic options desired. The car will be homologated as a C or A sports racer, depending on the engine package with SCCA. We are working with SCCA to get the K20A approved, but they want to keep it down to 225 HP, making it very difficult to compete with the 245-255 HP engines. The LMP3 will also accept a Toyota 4AG (Formula Atlantic engine), Cosworth BD series (Formula Atlantic engine), or a Judd K series.
The range for the car WITH West coast delivery will be in the 80-90K range. When you have nothing but the hishest quality components, and this sort of durability, uynfortunately, it does not come inexpensively! In NASA the car would run as a Super unlimited, and as an ESR in Endurance races.
I wnat to make sure that everyone knows this is an automotive engine, the K20A i-VTEC, driving a racing transmission. Chiron has experienced NO COMPONENT FAILURES in four years!!!!!! We like quality!
