Auston Harris To Race In USAC With Bob East
By ADZEN

Auston Harris, the 17 year old from Hayward, California, has been signed by driver development guru Bob East to participate in 3 races in a USAC Ford Focus Midget.  Harris is scheduled to race on May 14 at Anderson Speedway, May 22 at Mt. Lawn Speedway and May 28 at Plymouth Speedway.

"The folks at Ford asked me to test Auston in March last year," said East, and I was impressed by his natural ability but more by his attitude and maturity.  I'm excited that I will now have a chance to see Auston perform under race conditions.  I have a hunch that he is a real talent and now I will be able to confirm that."

"It's such an honor for me to have an opportunity to race with Bob," said Harris.  He is one of the most respected coaches in the business.  Although this is only a 3 race deal, it is an important step in my career and a chance for me to learn from the best."

Bob East is no stranger to success or talent.  Over the years, Bob has been a part of multiple USAC race and championship wins with drivers Tony Stewart, Bobby East (his son), JJ Yeley and Bobby Labonte, to name a few.

Auston Harris was born on December 11, 1990 and started racing Junior Dragsters at the age of 8 years old.  Since then, Auston has also raced in go-karts, formula cars, sports cars and touring cars.  Auston has achieved many podium finishes and impressed everyone that he has been fortunate enough to race with.
