December 28, 2007 – Danville, CA/Venice, CA. With documents signed today, Mecey Enterprises, Inc., a California corporation, owned by renowned photographer, car enthusiast, and driving instructor, David Mecey, has become the owner/operator of the Hooked on Driving, Southern California/Las Vegas franchise.
In providing top quality performance driving programs, Hooked On Driving reaches out to every driving enthusiast, no matter what make of car they drive or performance driving background. They welcome the novice driver as much as the experienced track driver with pro level instructors and programs suited for every participant.
“When we were searching for the person to build our Southern California franchise, we wanted someone who had similar ideals and the determination we felt was needed to work in what many consider the heart of the automobile culture in the USA,” quoted David Ray, owner of Hooked on Driving. “I had two trusted sources, both recommended David Mecey to us, and we feel fortunate to have connected with him. Our discussions were electric, as we truly share a vision for what our program should be and the enthusiasm boiled over into a signed agreement!”
Mecey comes from a background of not only being an avid car enthusiast, but also a racer and driving instructor for a number of years. In fact, he is currently a Chief Driving Instructor for the Los Angeles Chapter of the BMW Car Club of America. Ray adds, “David brings a knowledge of the industry and a background we want in our franchise owners. He has great ideas and really wants to help make HOD grow.”

Hooked on Driving (www.hookedondriving.com) launched a strategic national growth plan during 2007. Mecey’s Southern California operation joins that of the Northeastern Region owned by Joe Mills, of Yardley, Pa. Ray states that it is “quality, not quantity” in selecting franchisees for other key regions of the U.S., and he anticipates more signings in 2008. '
Also in 2007, HOD released “Getting On Track,” a professionally produced DVD on driving techniques (available at Amazon.com & Netflix) as well as provided feature articles for a new magazine entitled “High Performance Driving.” Key corporate partners, Shell V-Power and Yokohama/ADVAN tires work with HOD to add value and technical assistance to HOD drivers.
