Aiptek surprised everybody with the A-HD and GO-HD high-def camcorders last year. While cheap solid-state camcorders were nothing new, Aiptek's were the first to do HD with fairly good quality at prices below $200. Testing for race car applications yielded mixed results: the image easily destablized by vibration and the microphone failed to pick up anything other than wind noise even when covered up with tape (the common remedy for such problems in other camcorders).
