There are three main types of treatment in the manufacture of good trailers. Strength, stability and versatility (or function). In general, a utility trailers is a single bed flat (or flat sides), drive behind a vehicle and carries all sorts of tricks. More specific versions may have potential as high sides, a tailgate or top - add versatility. But there are many basic things that pulls the trailer well, and carry the necessary "stuff" needed for years. It is crucial to note that all topics are, or may even be present in each design. In addition, some of the items mentioned above will not be desirable in your particular application. The intention is to provide a better understanding of some of the things that make a difference in the pleasure of ownership, longevity and usefulness of your trailer.

Since I'm looking, I thought I would start a list and people can add to it along with feedback for buying a trailer.

My use is for sedans (Miatas, BMWs). In addition, I have a motorcycle that I think would be nice to take with me to the track (or in its place, a scooter/goped type thing). I think I'm looking at a 20' and being cramped or a 24' and being ok. Any ideas?

From Scott and Mark:

Beavertail

Height of trailer, lower is better for Cg and for getting car in/out

Wheels on bottom/back of trailer to help with bottoming out?

From Tom Miller:

durable flooring, alum. checker plate as needed, finish of your choice on the walls, wall mounted tire racks, aluminum storage cabinets, floor jack storage rack, fuel jug racks, upgraded tires to 10 ply, a tongue box, a folding work table, shelves for fluids you need, a work counter, a place to store helmet, driving suit, shoes,

What else?

You can find many enclosed trailer of different size and price in the market, I am sure you find that 20' or 24' trailer too. The enclosed trailers have enough space to fit your stuffs and also a bike. Actually there are other big trailer home which are really big and have 2 to 3 bed and a bath. This type of enclosed trailer are also very nice and facilitate, you will feel like you are spending your time in a home room. This type of trailer also saves you cost of accommodation. This big home trailer nearly meets your demand.
Hey MaryBeth I really appreciate your work and as I am living in Milpitas it wont be much far for me to visit your place. Hey man I was wondering to get a one trailer for my SUV. A perfect one for a small family to fit stuffs for vacation or a tour. I have been thinking of going a short tour to Silicon Valley, so was wondering to get a small trailer for me. I had gone through the Trailer Plus site I found so many there but not as I was expecting. So was wondering to get a small enclosed trailer with the bed attach in it. I had the same trailer at my home in NY but couldn't bring that here its too long ride till here. So I am thinking to get the one here. As I heard Trailers Plus can meet the demand of customers shipping and transport looking for a solution transportation that includes key features like steel reinforcement, individual or tandem axles and hydraulic cylinder single or double so I send them a email regarding my needs but there was no respond so I am here in search of trailer for my SUV.
It came from the manufacturer with 16" LT (light truck) tires.

Any thoughts about LT tires vs. traditional ST (trailer) tires?
