Mark, I know what you mean...T8 is much easier now. I remember spining there in the old days...Now I can almost go thru there flat. I could definitely do it in my old Spec Miata.

Little sort of an update.
Going to Starbucks on Cannery Row in my E46 ///M3 and noticed about 6-8 car haulers/transporters, as I approach the first one a man motions to me and asks "Is this one mine" and I shake my head no and continue driving. Then around a slight bend are the new ///M3's being loaded for transport. First, have to say looks much better in person then in the pictures. Second, sounds great too. Hope to have some really bad pictures up soon (Cell Phone). Also there was a couple of new Mini's and a the new clubman, 7 series, 1 series+convt. Asked one of the BMW reps there what was the occasion and he said it was Media Event to introduce a couple of models M3 coupe, Sedan, Mini Clubman, and a new Rolls Royce. Then spoke to the truck driver and he said one load was going up to the Cow Palace and then others all over.

Laguna Seca track changes for MotoGP

Seeing threw turn 6 is great for safety and run off.
How does improving safety make it any easier? You still have to race, pass and hold off your fellow racers.
Interesting perspective you guys have.
I would think it would be harder, since you now know that the wall is pushed back in T1, T2-T3, T6 and thus I can push the car or bike that much harder to the edge with a little more peace of mind. Imagine Thunderhill with walls 15 feet off the track in all directions. and Monaco without walls.

Hey bradda's here is some good da-kind on the tracka,
The good things:
1. It's always going to have good weather the best I have ever seen. Even if its raining wait ten minutes and it will blow over.
2. There building a new raceway park sometime in the near future.
3. Only quarter mile drag stip on the island. (Might be a bad thing, it matters on which day)

The bad things:
1. Restrooms, nuff said.
2. The track itself needs help facilities, amenities (none, nadda), even the grand-stands need help.
3. Not many BMW events out there maybe two a year. Better off joining the Honda club or local import club.
4. Imports dominate the island and thus the track.
5. Meguires Ford Focus drag car came out for demo for Hot Import Nights and the driver even said it was the worst ever.

The old media center has been torn down and part of the hill it was sitting on is now level with the track and going to be run off space (between the start/finish and turn 1 aka the kink). A new structure is foming where the old VIP hospitality area is and will be I think the new and improved VIP/hospitality area. The dirt from the hill filled in the part of the pond inside of turn 4 (the rest is going to be filled later) there will be a bigger and better souvenir superstore built there. The track is under contrustuction following the U.S. Sport Car Invitational 8 May 06 untill the Moto GP 21 Jul 06 the track will be completely resurfaced during this time frame. The was some work going on right before the cork screw not to sure what there doing but it looked like it might be some more run off space. Heard through the grapevine there will be more beer vendors to avoid the ten+ minute lines. Thought you might like this one Mark.

Better get your tickets early they did sell out for the first time ever and more than likely expect to this time around. Also expect to be shuttled in the only people will be allowed to park at the track will be motorcycle's unless your special and have one of those color coded parking tags, yes I'm jealous.
